Washington, D.C. - The United States Mint announces the upcoming release of the 2024 American Innovation, Maine dollar coins in paper-wrapped rolls and canvas mini-bags. These commemorative coins celebrate the groundbreaking contributions of Dr. Bernard Lown, a renowned cardiologist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate who developed the life-saving defibrillator.

The American Innovation, Maine dollar coins are struck in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition and feature captivating designs. The reverse portrays a profile portrait of Dr. Lown with his iconic direct current defibrillator in operation, while the obverse depicts the Statue of Liberty in profile with an annually changing privy mark.
