Snoop Dogg has announced a new line of limited-edition sneakers in collaboration with STEPN GO, the recently launched social-lifestyle app from FSL.
The sneakers will be available in four designs, each inspired by a different iconic appearance or cultural moment from Snoop’s career. The designs include Dope, Lowrider, ‘G’ Sneaker, and Doggystyle.
The sneakers will be sold via a raffle, with tickets costing 15,000 GMT. The raffle will be open from Oct. 25 to Nov. 8 and will be hosted on the STEPN GO X account and MOOAR, FSL’s internal marketplace.
The collaboration marks Snoop’s latest foray into the retail space. Last week, the Hip Hop legend announced his latest non-musical collaboration with fellow Hip Hop legend and longtime friend Dr. Dre.
The two announced that Still G.I.N. By Dre and Snoop, an ultra-premium gin, will be available nationwide. The eagerly awaited second product from the brand follows the global success of its first release in February — Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop, a ready-to-drink canned spirit. This marks the first time that the award-winning beverage brand has entered the pure premium spirits category.
Dre and Snoop’s Still G.I.N. is inspired by Dr. Dre’s timeless hit “Still D.R.E.” from his groundbreaking multi-platinum album “2001,” while Gin & Juice pays homage to Snoop Dogg’s hit song “Gin and Juice,” which was produced by Dr. Dre.
“Every day in the studio when Dre and I were trying to make the dopest music, we were drinking gin and just having fun,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement accompanying the press release. “We’ve been a part of the evolution of this gin — from the creation of the flavor, to the percentage of alcohol that’s in it — and it’s just so good! Dre’s a perfectionist: he wants to make sure it’s not just good, but great. Together, we ain’t gonna do nothing regular!”
“This is not a liquor that we’re just putting our name on,” Dr. Dre added. “It’s just like we did with Beats headphones. Everything is us from the ground up: the gin, the flavor, the packaging… Everything had to be perfect. Snoop said it best: we’re better together — it’s always magical. It’s incredible to know that you’ve got something amazing that you feel is gonna really work. From the look to the taste, it’s all there.”
