Apni Party Chief Slams National Conference and PDP as "Two Sides of the Same Coin"

May 02, 2024 at 11:02 pm

Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari asserted that the National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are inseparable entities seeking to perpetuate their family rule in Jammu and Kashmir. He accused both parties of exploiting the people by dividing the region into fiefdoms and urged voters to reject their deceptive promises and choose the Apni Party for a prosperous and peaceful future.

National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party: Two Sides of the Same Coin, Declares Apni Party President

Srinagar, May 2, 2024: Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari has denounced the National Conference (NC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as two sides of the same coin, both intent on perpetuating their family rule in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a public rally in South Kashmir's Shopian, Bukhari decried the decades-long dominance of these "traditional parties," particularly their dynastic tendencies. He accused them of dividing the state into fiefdoms for their own political gain.

"The NC and PDP have forged a consensus to alternate in power, exploiting the people's aspirations," Bukhari asserted. "But their time is up. They can no longer deceive us with empty promises and false narratives."

Bukhari warned against falling prey to the deceptive slogans and promises of the NC and PDP. He dismissed their claims to restore Article 370, abolished in 2019, as mere election ploys.

"They promised 'Raishumari,' 'Autonomy,' and 'Self-rule' in the past, but now they seek to hoodwink you again with promises that defy reality," Bukhari said. "Their time is past. We must reject their dynastic rule."

The Apni Party, Bukhari vowed, stands committed to ushering in an era of peace, prosperity, and development for Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated the party's pledge to provide 500 free electricity units to domestic consumers and to relieve electricity bills for those living below the poverty line.

Bukhari also pledged to facilitate the return of jailed youth to their homes and assist them in reintegrating into society. "We will work tirelessly to ensure that every Kashmiri has a brighter future," he declared.

Bukhari's comments come amid a highly contested election campaign in Jammu and Kashmir, with the NC and PDP seen as the main contenders for power. The Apni Party, formed in 2020, is vying to establish itself as a credible alternative to the traditional political establishment.

Observers believe that Bukhari's allegations of family rule and deceptive promises could resonate with voters who are weary of the longstanding dominance of the NC and PDP. The party's focus on economic development and social welfare could also appeal to a broad spectrum of voters.

As the election draws near, the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir is expected to witness intense competition, with the Apni Party emerging as a potential game-changer in the battle for power.
