日本將向印尼提供兩艘高速巡邏艇以加強區域海上安全

日本首相石破茂週六表示，日本將向印尼提供兩艘高速巡邏艇，面對中國日益增強的自信，東京尋求加強地區海上安全合作。

Japan will provide Indonesia with two high-speed patrol boats, Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba announced Saturday, as part of Tokyo's efforts to enhance regional maritime security cooperation amid China's increasing assertiveness.

日本首相石破茂週六宣布，日本將向印尼提供兩艘高速巡邏艇，作為東京在中國日益自信的情況下加強地區海上安全合作努力的一部分。

Ishiba disclosed the pledge during his visit to Jakarta, where he engaged in talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on various bilateral matters.

石破茂在訪問雅加達期間與印尼總統普拉博沃·蘇比安托就多項雙邊事務進行了會談，期間透露了這一承諾。

"We agreed on launching working-level defence consultations regarding our maritime security, including defence equipment technical cooperation," Ishiba stated in a joint statement, as quoted by the government.

政府援引石破在一份聯合聲明中表示：“我們同意就我們的海上安全展開工作級別的國防磋商，包括國防裝備技術合作。”

"We also agreed to... offer high-speed patrol boats through Official Security Assistance, which will mark our first with Indonesia."

“我們也同意……透過官方安全援助提供高速巡邏艇，這將是我們與印尼的首次合作。”

According to Ishiba, the two nations also consented to collaborate in decarbonized energy sectors, including geothermal power, hydrogen, ammonia, and biofuels.

石破說，兩國也同意在脫碳能源領域合作，包括地熱能、氫、氨和生物燃料。

Prior to arriving in Jakarta, Ishiba held talks in Kuala Lumpur with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

在抵達雅加達之前，石破茂在吉隆坡與馬來西亞總理安瓦爾·易卜拉欣舉行了會談。

"For our foreign policy, enhancing cooperation with Southeast Asia is among the top priorities," Ishiba said.

「對我們的外交政策來說，加強與東南亞的合作是首要任務之一，」石破說。

With the US encouraging it to counter China, Japan has been strengthening security ties in the region.

在美國鼓勵其對抗中國的情況下，日本一直在加強在該地區的安全關係。

China lays claim to nearly all of the South China Sea, despite an international ruling in 2016 that concluded its claims have no legal basis.

Tokyo is already providing equipment and other assistance to the Philippines, which is engaged in territorial disputes with Beijing.

Last year, the Philippines ratified a key defence pact with Japan, which allows them to deploy troops on each other's soil.

The visit to Malaysia and Indonesia marks Ishiba's first official state visit since taking office in October.
