Meanwhile, renowned Malvern auctioneer and television personality Philip Serrell wielded his gavel, orchestrating the auctioning of 17 lots that amassed a staggering £12,000 for the cause. Malvern Mayor Coun Clive Hooper, who has chosen St. Richard's as his mayoral charity, was also in attendance.

He highlighted the staggering costs associated with running St. Richard's, an annual sum exceeding £10 million. "The hospice relies heavily on voluntary support, including donations, gifts, and events, as NHS funding covers a mere fraction of its expenses," he noted.
