AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – Dominion Energy is saying “thank you” to the University of South Carolina Aiken for its support in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene with a $10,000 donation.

According to the university, the funding, which was presented Tuesday, will be directed to the institution’s Pacer Response Fund. The fund helps students cover urgent and essential expenses during times of personal hardship.

During the initial hurricane recovery period, USCA provided housing, meals and other amenities to hundreds of workers who came from across the country to restore power after the storm.

“One of the challenges we faced was finding housing for the workers, and we are incredibly grateful to rely on partners like USCA in the community,” said Tim Warrick, District Manager of Dominion Energy’s Western District. “Providing a place for our teams to sleep after working 16 to 18-hour days was vital. It made all the difference in our ability to restore power efficiently.”
