New Wartime Commemorative Coin "Let's Hold the Line!" Minted by NBU to Mark the Third Anniversary of the Beginning of the Full-Scale Russian Invasion of Ukraine

To mark the third anniversary of the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) minted a new wartime commemorative coin:

To mark the third anniversary of the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has minted a new wartime commemorative coin: “Let’s Hold the Line!”.

It is dedicated to the indomitability of the Ukrainian military, who are selflessly defending the Motherland in all the hottest areas of confrontation, and to the unity of all Ukrainians on the path to a just Victory.

“We named the new coin ‘Keep the line!’ – this call is clear and resonates in the heart of every Ukrainian. The war continues, the struggle continues. Hundreds of thousands of heroes and heroines are standing in defense of Ukraine – not without fear, but with a dignity that few in the world are capable of. Everyone who has the strength supports them in the rear. This is our conscious choice, not easy, but the only possible one. After all, there is only one way to influence the course of events – to do everything in our power so that out of dozens of scenarios, ours becomes real: a sovereign and independent Ukraine. Forever!,” emphasized Andriy Pyshny, Chairman of the National Bank.

About the Design of the 2025 Ukraine Hold the Line 5 Hryvnia Silver Coin

The obverse of the commemorative coin “Let’s Hold the Line!” depicts Ukrainian defenders who have joined hands in a collective handshake in a circle of unity. This composition emphasizes solidarity before battle, readiness to defend the native land. In the background, the lines of defense and directions of combat operations are schematically depicted, visually resembling a trident.

The reverse of the coin continues the theme of the obverse – soldiers confidently going on the offensive are depicted. In the upper part of the coin, the inscription HOLD THE STRIKE is placed in a semicircle, as well as stylized images of military equipment, which personify the strength and power of the Ukrainian army. Behind the soldiers is a reliable rear, represented by silhouettes of civilians of various professions who work every day, help and donate for the sake of a common victory.

About the Implementation of the New Coin

The new Ukraine wartime commemorative world coin “Let’s keep the order!” was put into circulation on February 24, 2025. It has a face value of 5 hryvnias and is made of nickel silver. The circulation is up to 50,000 pieces in souvenir packaging.

This coin will be available for purchase in the NBU online store of numismatic products from February 25, 2025, as well as from distributing banks (the list of which is listed on the page of the official online representative office of the National Bank).
