Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk final judge is decided by coin toss as Ignacio Robles replaces Fernando Barbosa

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk: Final judge decided by coin toss after both camps object Ignacio Robles from Panama will step in for Fernando Barbosa, who is reportedly unwell.

The final judge for the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk bout was determined by a coin toss on Saturday morning, with Ignacio Robles from Panama set to step in for Fernando Barbosa, who is reportedly unwell.

The decision was finally made despite objections to Robles, with both camps coming to blows over who they wanted as the fifth judge ahead of tonight's huge heavyweight showdown.

Boxing News initially reported that Robles would replace Barbosa, not Steve Weisfeld from New Jersey, who was previously considered the favourite.

Weisfeld, an experienced judge, has previously scored fights involving both boxers. He had Fury leading in his second and third bouts with Deontay Wilder before the Brit ended both matches early, while he also scored Usyk's first fight with Anthony Joshua in favour of the Ukrainian at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In the end, the Middle Eastern Professional Boxing Commission (MEPBC) supervised the coin toss, with representatives from both teams present, but not the boxers themselves.

At Team Usyk's request, the MEPBC is overseeing the main event, despite the British Boxing Board of Control managing the undercard. This arrangement mirrors the first fight back in May.

Usyk is defending his WBA, WBC and WBO heavyweight titles against Fury in a rematch. It's understood that the Ukrainian's team preferred Robles to judge alongside Patrick Morley from Chicago and Gerardo Martinez from Puerto Rico.

The controversy over the length of Fury's beard persists, but sources close to the Gypsy King's team have insisted it won't be a problem. However, it remains unclear whether he will succumb to Usyk promoter Alex Krassyuk's request for the beard to be trimmed.

Fury has declared that the time for jokes is over and he intends to put unified heavyweight champion Usyk in the "hurt locker". The 36-year-old Briton, usually known for his verbosity, has been notably quiet during this week's promotional events and press conferences.

The most heated moment came towards the end of a lengthy 12-minute face-off when Fury began taunting Usyk. The Ukrainian responded with his own jibes and a smile before they were eventually separated.
