New Delhi, April 21, 2024: In a momentous celebration of Jain heritage and spirituality, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 2550th Bhagwan Mahaveer Nirvan Mahotsav at Bharat Mandapam in the heart of the Indian capital.
Marking the commencement of the grand festival, PM Modi addressed a distinguished gathering, graced by renowned Jain saints and dignitaries. In his inaugural address, the Prime Minister extended warm wishes to the nation on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.

"Every Tirthankar, including the revered Magavir Swami ji, has played a pivotal role in guiding humanity," remarked Prime Minister Modi. "Their lives are marked by five important events: Chyavana/Garbha (conception), Janma (birth), Diksha (renunciation), Kevaljnana (omniscience), and Nirvana (liberation)."
