The NBU has issued a new commemorative coin "New Year's Toy"

The most cherished dream of each of us is that Ukraine's defenders will be able to return home to their families and friends. And we will do everything in our power to achieve this.

The National Bank of Ukraine has issued a new commemorative coin "New Year's Toy".

Today, it was presented by NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyi, UNN reports with reference to the NBU.

"The most cherished dream of each of us is that Ukraine's defenders will be able to return home to their families and friends. And we will do everything in our power to achieve this, going this way step by step, making the necessary decisions, working under any conditions. On the new coin, we have also symbolically depicted the military, to whom we are grateful every day. We are waiting for their return and want them to be with us. With this coin, we pay them honor and respect," emphasized Andriy Pyshnyi.

About the design of the coin

The New Year's Toy commemorative coin is made of silver and has a face value of 10 hryvnias.

The obverse depicts an elegant decorative embroidered motif in the form of snowflakes, which are traditionally used to decorate winter windows.

On the reverse is a Christmas composition with nativity scene characters in a modern interpretation. In the center is a Christmas tree with the main symbol of Christmas - the Star of Bethlehem. Around it, stylized carolers sing Christmas songs, bringing joy and warmth to every home. The nativity scene also features a symbolic image of a warrior, representing Ukraine's modern defenders who are eager to return home to celebrate the holidays with their families.

The coin is decorated with enamel and local gilding.

It was designed by artists Volodymyr Taran, Oleksandr Haruk, and Serhii Haruk.

The circulation is up to 10 thousand copies.

How to buy a coin?

Starting tomorrow, on December 20, 2024, the first part of the New Year's Toy commemorative coins will be available for purchase in the NBU's online store. Information about the next sales of these coins in the online store will be announced later.
