Washington, DC, April 1, 2024 - The United States Mint proudly announces the release of the second American Innovation $1 Coin of 2024, honoring the pioneering spirit and technological prowess of the great State of Alabama. This meticulously crafted coin captures the grandeur and achievement of the Saturn V rocket, a testament to American engineering brilliance and the boundless aspirations of humankind.

The reverse (tails) design of the American Innovation $1 Coin for Alabama depicts the iconic Saturn V rocket in all its glory, soaring upwards with the Moon in the distance. This monumental symbol of spacefaring ambition serves as a fitting tribute to the skilled workforce and innovative minds at the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, who played a pivotal role in the Apollo program and the historic journey to the Moon.

The American Innovation $1 Coin for Alabama will be available for purchase in the following packaging options:

Sales will commence on April 8, 2024, at noon EDT, exclusively through the United States Mint's website. To ensure fair and equal access to all, orders will be limited to 10 items of each product per household for the first 24 hours of sale.

Technical Specifications
The Alabama American Innovation $1 Coin is clad in a composition of 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese, and 2% nickel. It has a diameter of 26.5 millimeters and a weight of 8.1 grams. The edge of the coin is incused with the year of issue, "2024," the mint mark, and the national motto, "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
