An elderly man in California panicked and caused a scene at a bank after being unable to withdraw money due to an expired ID card. The incident occurred on September 18, 2017, at a Bank of America branch in Montebello. According to a Facebook post by the Montebello Police Department, officers responded to reports of a customer causing a disturbance inside the financial institution.

Upon arriving at the scene, the officers discovered that a 92-year-old man was trying to withdraw money from his account. However, his California identification card had expired, and the bank staff was unable to complete the transaction. The man, later identified as Jesus Rangel, was reportedly unhappy with the services offered by the staff.

The cops didn't find the bank staff at fault, as they needed to identify their customers to fulfill any transaction. "Per the bank’s policy, because his identification card was expired, they were unable to fulfill his request. The gentleman was upset, and the police were called," the post added.

However, instead of escorting Rangel out, the officers showed courtesy by helping him. One of the cops, Robert Josett, decided to take the matter into his own hands. The officer in charge took the responsibility of driving him to the local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

With the assistance of the DMV, Rangel's identification card was renewed, and he was taken back to the bank, at which point he was able to withdraw money from his account. "He thanked Officer Josett and went on his way," the post concluded, inviting reactions from the online community.
