Cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex has announced that its derivatives division, Bitfinex Derivatives, has received a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) license in El Salvador. The license will allow Bitfinex Derivatives to operate in the country, and the move is seen as a major step in El Salvador's efforts to become a digital asset hub in Latin America.

Bitfinex Derivatives is now licensed to operate in El Salvador, and the move will see the derivatives division of the cryptocurrency exchange relocate its operations to the country. The news was announced by Bitfinex on its official X account.
