On March 14, around 6 pm Govind Badure from Mayurnagar stopped near Deogiri Bank, Jadhavwadi, when two men asked for a matchbox. On refusing, they attacked him, looted his mobile phone, Rs 20,000 cash, and a 4-tola gold bracelet. The men smashed Badure's head with a brick, leaving him seriously injured. Cidco police are investigating the case.

In another incident, two men on a bike snatched a mobile phone from a citizen and fled. The incident occurred on March 12, around 11 pm, when Kapil Bilwal was walking near Gajanan Maharaj Temple Road. Police are examining CCTV footage to identify the suspects.

Meanwhile, at a Shiv Puran Katha event in Mayur Park, thieves mixed with devotees and stole eight mangalsutras and gold necklaces, valued at nearly Rs 10 lakh.

The thefts took place within minutes as women were standing in the entry queue. The incident came to light when the victims realised that their jewellery was missing.

Police have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage to identify and nab the culprits. They suspect that the thieves might have targeted the women systematically.
