The funeral for actor Song Jae-rim was held at the Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital in Seoul on November 14 at noon. Close colleagues carried Song’s casket, and his family members took his portrait to the Seoul City Crematorium.

The actor was found deceased at his Seongdong District residence on November 12 at the age of 39. A friend, who had planned to meet him for lunch, discovered him and alerted the authorities. The police confirmed there was no evidence of foul play, and a note was reportedly found at the scene.

Song Jae-rim’s personal Instagram account profile now features the phrase “Starting a Long Journey,” and his last post was made 41 weeks ago, in January this year. However, it has been reported that he was still uploading posts and stories as recently as October.

이제 송재림의 개인 인스타그램 계정 프로필에는 '긴 여정을 시작하다'라는 문구가 들어가고, 마지막 게시물은 41주 전인 올해 1월에 작성됐다. 하지만 그는 최근 10월까지도 여전히 게시물과 스토리를 올리고 있는 것으로 전해졌다.

One of Song Jae-rim’s fans shared, “The phrase ‘Starting a Long Journey’ was added only a few days ago. The photos were cleared on the same day. When I checked on the morning of the 12th, all the photos were suddenly gone.”

송재림의 한 팬은 “'긴 여정을 시작하다'라는 문구가 추가된 건 불과 며칠 전이다. 사진은 당일 삭제되었습니다. 12일 오전에 확인해보니 갑자기 사진이 다 없어졌다”고 말했다.

Another fan added sorrowfully, “He had kept the comments open and was interacting with people. He cleared everything on that day.” Fans expressed their disbelief and sadness, saying, “That’s why it’s even harder to believe.”

또 다른 팬은 “댓글을 공개하며 사람들과 소통하고 있었다. 그날 그는 모든 것을 정리했습니다.” 팬들은 “그래서 더욱 믿기 어렵다”며 믿기지 않고 안타까움을 표했다.

Song Jae-rim’s friends and fellow entertainers have paid tribute, expressing deep regret and sharing their hope for his peace. Actor Jung Il-woo, who starred alongside him in “The Moon Embracing the Sun,” left a heartfelt message saying, “Please find happiness there, brother. I’m sorry…let’s meet again someday.”

Up until recently, Song Jae-rim remained active in television dramas, theater, and musicals. This year, he appeared in the TVing original series “Queen Woo,” the Rakuten Viki series “My Military Valentine,” the play “Wife” (tentative title) which ran until February, and the musical “The Rose of Versailles,” which closed last month. He had also completed filming the movie “Crash: The Man Who Lost Everything” (literal translation).

송재림은 최근까지 드라마, 연극, 뮤지컬 등을 오가며 활발한 활동을 이어왔다. 올해는 티빙 오리지널 시리즈 '우왕후', 라쿠텐 비키 시리즈 '마이 밀리터리 발렌타인', 2월까지 방영된 연극 '와이프'(가제), 뮤지컬 '베르사유의 장미' 등에 출연했다. 지난달에 문을 닫았습니다. 그는 영화 '크래시: 모든 것을 잃은 남자'(직역) 촬영도 마쳤다.

After concluding his contract with his former agency last year, Song Jae-rim had been continuing his career independently.

Meanwhile, harassment by sasaeng fans was identified as a major cause for the late actor’s death.
