Tirupati Stampede: 4 Devotees Killed, 175 Injured in Vaikunthadwara Sarvadarshanam Token Distribution Chaos

A stampede occurred at Vishnu Nivasam in Tirupati on Wednesday, leading to the unfortunate deaths of three devotees. The incident took place during the distribution of Vaikunthadwara Sarvadarshanam tokens, which drew a massive crowd of devotees.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock over the incident. Andhra Pradesh CMO issued statement in connection with the incident and said, "Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu expressed his deep shock over the death of 4 devotees in the stampede that took place near Vishnu Niwasam in Tirupati for darshan tokens at Tirumala Srivari Vaikuntha Dwara."

Four others who fell during the stampede were rushed to Ruia Hospital for urgent medical care. The rescue and relief teams quickly stepped in to control the situation and ensure the safety of the remaining devotees.

The incident highlights concerns about crowd management during major religious events, where large numbers of devotees gather. Local authorities are investigating the situation to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

The incident occurred on the day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the state and laid foundation stones for several developmental projects in Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu accompanied the Prime Minister during the inauguration of projects.

There are reports that efforts are underway to assist those affected and to manage the situation at the venue. There were around 4,000 devotees present when the incident occurred during the token distribution. This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the importance of effective crowd control measures during such high-attendance religious occasions.
