Victoria's State Rose & Garden Show Is Set to Bloom Bright This Weekend

Across one big weekend, Werribee Park's Victoria State Rose Garden is set to bloom bright for the annual State Rose & Garden Show. But this is a whole lot more than just a festival of flowers.

Victoria's State Rose & Garden Show Is Set to Bloom Bright This Weekend

The Victoria State Rose Garden in Werribee Park will burst into life over one huge weekend for the annual State Rose & Garden Show. But this is not your average flower festival.

Across the six sprawling acres of rose gardens, more than 5000 roses will bloom in a riot of colour from Saturday, November 9 to Sunday, November 10. Pop-up nursery stalls will showcase a vast array of plants, pots and homewares.

You can also brush up on your gardening skills with a program of guided tours, expert talks and plant care demonstrations, led by the likes of Vasili Kanidiadis, Chloe Thomson, Charlotte Harrison, Ivan Blacket and Kat Lavers.

Free workshops will include creating your own insect hotel, making miniature garden ornaments and learning how to make Middle Eastern pickles.

In between admiring the blooms, you'll be treated to live tunes, food and drinks – including sparkling delights from the Prosecco Van. The Country Women's Association will also be on site, serving their renowned scones with jam and cream, rose-flavoured cupcakes, rose-coloured lamingtons and Persian love biscuits made with rose petals.

Entry to the rose show is free, although a gold coin donation will help support the garden's dedicated volunteers.

The State Rose & Garden Show will be open from 10am to 4pm both days.
