Hyderabad, April 29, 2024: The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has launched an innovative and provocative campaign titled "Donkey's Egg" against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday. The campaign exposes the BJP's hollow promises and lack of delivery for the State of Telangana over the last decade.

The "Donkey's Egg" metaphor is a colloquial expression in Telugu literature that signifies futility. It derives from the fact that donkeys, unlike hens, do not lay eggs. Thus, the idiom "Donkey's Egg" implies that the BJP has delivered nothing of substance to Telangana.

The campaign centers around ten key assurances made by the BJP, either directly or through the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, which the party has failed to fulfill. These assurances include the grant of national project status to the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, Telangana's rightful share in the Krishna river waters (811 TMCFT), the establishment of educational institutions such as IIIT, IIM, and NID, and various other promises that remain unfulfilled.

At the launch of the campaign, a giant model of an egg was erected on a platform, bearing a comical image of a donkey with the caption "This is what BJP has given." Ten hoardings adorned the platform behind the egg, each displaying one of the unfulfilled promises.

"The BJP has made a mockery of the trust placed in them by the people of Telangana," said M Abhinay Goud, National Coordinator of NSUI. "They have failed to deliver on their promises, leaving the state in a state of neglect."

Goud emphasized that the NSUI has been actively raising awareness about the BJP's failures on college campuses across the state. The "Donkey's Egg" campaign is a continuation of these efforts, and it will be carried out until the conclusion of the upcoming elections.

In addition to the "Donkey's Egg" campaign, the NSUI has also launched another campaign titled "Mohabbat Ki Dukaan," which highlights the Congress party's "Paanch Nyay" guarantees.
