This substantial donation, part of NGIC's comprehensive corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, underscores the company's unwavering commitment to fostering mutually beneficial relationships with the communities it operates in.
Managing Director Seyi Omotowa, who presided over the official inauguration ceremony, emphasized NGIC's ardent desire to maintain harmonious relations with its host communities. "We firmly believe that our host communities are partners in our business endeavors, and we are dedicated to their well-being," he stated.
"As a gas transportation company driven by the vision of supporting Nigeria's economic growth, our gas pipeline infrastructure network spans over 2,500 kilometers, traversing 350 host communities across 11 states," Omotowa elaborated. Omotowa stressed the paramount importance of community well-being in NGIC's CSR endeavors. "We are here today to present these two blocks of 20 lock-up shops as a token of our contribution to the development of the Ugbokodo community, which we hold dear as one of our peace-loving communities," he declared.

NGIC, he pledged, would continue to encourage and recognize communities that promote dialogue, understanding, and peaceful resolution of issues.
"We urge the people of Ugbokodo community to safeguard this project by implementing adequate security measures to protect it," Omotowa added.
In his remarks, the chairman of the Ugbokodo community, Christopher Ofoye, expressed heartfelt gratitude to NGIC for its CSR initiatives and the inauguration of the lock-up shops. "NNPC Gas Infrastructure is indeed a friend of the Ugbokodo community, displaying a level of humanity that sets it apart from other oil companies operating here," he affirmed.
Ofoye highlighted NGIC's numerous contributions to the community, including skills acquisition programs, training and empowerment initiatives, and the construction and donation of four classroom blocks. He implored other companies in the area to emulate NGIC's exemplary commitment to community development.
Ofoye extended a series of requests to NNPC-NGIC, including the completion of the remaining market project, consideration for the community's denied slots in body-shop recruitment, engagement of graduates in NGIC's Young Professional program, and the inauguration of a Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) team with NGIC management as host community representative. He assured NGIC that the lock-up shops would be utilized effectively and maintained for their intended economic purpose.
