Modi Unloads Scathing Attack on Congress-CPI(M) 'Buddy-Buddy' Bond

Apr 23, 2024 at 01:27 am

Prime Minister Modi has accused Congress and CPI-M of being two sides of the same coin, engaging in friendly competition in Kerala but aligning in Delhi. He alleges that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi silently approves of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's corruption despite multiple charges. Modi also criticizes the LDF government in Kerala for its dynasty politics and economic mismanagement, while praising Governor Arif Mohammad Khan for his integrity.

Modi Unleashes Scathing Indictment of Congress-CPI(M) 'Friendly' Nexus

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a blistering attack on the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)], accusing them of engaging in a hypocritical charade in Kerala while colluding at the national level.

In a bombshell interview with a leading Malayalam daily, Modi alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tacitly condoned the corruption allegations against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. "In Kerala, the Congress's 'Yuvraj' (crown prince) wants to put Vijayan in jail, but in Delhi, they unite to protest action against corruption," Modi said.

Modi pointed to specific instances where Gandhi remained silent despite serious charges against Vijayan. "When I exposed the illicit deal between Vijayan and his daughter with the Kochi Metro Rail Corporation (CMRL), the Yuvraj was silent. In the gold smuggling case, when I highlighted links between Vijayan's office and the racket, the Yuvraj was silent," he asserted.

The Prime Minister's tirade extended to the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in Kerala, which he characterized as a mirror image of the Congress. "The LDF has become synonymous with everything we associate with the Congress Party—dynasty politics, corruption, and so on," he declared.

Modi accused the Congress of abandoning the core principles of Indian identity, citing their denial of Lord Ram's existence, mockery of Hindu deities, and opposition to traditional values. "This is ironic for a party that once prided itself on Gandhi's ideals but now aligns with those who seek to eradicate Sanatan Dharma," he said.

Turning to economic mismanagement, Modi blamed the LDF and the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) for the state's financial woes. "Misgovernance has led to alarming levels of debt, forcing the Kerala government to borrow even to pay its employees," he said. "They prioritize hiring more personal staff for ministers and paying them lifetime pensions, neglecting infrastructure development and job creation."

"This mismanagement has resulted in PSC rank holders waiting years for offer letters because the government lacks the funds to pay these deserving youth," Modi added.

Dismissing claims of inadequate central funding, Modi revealed that Kerala received a staggering Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand crore during his government's tenure, significantly more than the Rs 460,000 crore allocated under the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime.

Modi also weighed in on the tussle between Vijayan and Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, urging the state government to respect the constitutional authority of the Governor. "Even hostile countries provide security to diplomatic representatives. It is the duty of the state to respect the Governor," he said.

Praising Khan's resilience, Modi remarked, "He is a person who bears a lot."

On the Karivannur bank scam, Modi pledged to establish a mechanism to reimburse victims of the fraud. Recognizing Kerala's tourism potential, he expressed his commitment to promoting the state as a global destination.

"The 21st century is not just India's century, it is also the century of India's youth," Modi concluded. "We are working tirelessly for 2047 to fulfill their aspirations for a 'Viksit Bharat' (developed India)."
