GT Vs MI, IPL 2025 Match 9: Highlights
MI won the coin toss and opted to bowl first in Ahmedabad. However, th decision backfired, as GT captain Shubman Gill an Sai Sudarshan once again provided the side with a terrific start.
The opening pair scored 78 runs, before the dismissal of their skipper at the hands of opposition skipper Hardik Pandya.
The dismissal did not derail the momentum of GT, as Jos Buttler and Sai Sudarshan ensured the side reaches the total of 200.
MI made a strong comeback with the ball after the wickets of Jos Buttler and Sai Sudarshan, as no other GT batter managed to complement the excellent start provided by their top-order.
Sai Sudarshan continues his fine run with the bat by scoring yet another half-century, as his innings of 63 off 41 balls propelled the home side to 196/8 at the end of their innings.
In reply, MI suffered early jitters, as Mohammad Siraj dismised their opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton inside the powerplay.
The visitors were brought back into the contest by Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Yadav, as the duo formed a partnership of 62 for the 3rd wicket.
However, the wicket of Tilak Varma announced the collapse of MI's batting order, as star all-rounder Hardik Pandya alongside the rest of the middle-order, failed to up the ante, and were hence, restricted by GT bowlers at 160/6.
