BJP-JDS Coalition to Outlast Lok Sabha Elections, Vows Yediyurappa
Apr 17, 2024 at 09:50 am
Former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa affirmed on Tuesday that the BJP-JDS coalition will endure beyond the Lok Sabha elections. He emphasized that the alliance is not ephemeral but is intended for future state elections. Yediyurappa expressed confidence in the alliance's strength and projected a united front with JDS supremo H.D. Deve Gowda, envisioning a clean sweep of all 28 parliamentary seats in Karnataka.
BJP-JDS Coalition to Endure Beyond Lok Sabha Elections, Declares Yediyurappa
Davanagere/Chitradurga: Former Chief Minister and veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader B. S. Yediyurappa has unequivocally stated that the existing coalition between the BJP and the Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS) will not dissolve after the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing the media, Yediyurappa asserted, "The BJP-JDS alliance is not merely confined to the Lok Sabha polls. In fact, it will extend to subsequent elections, which we shall contest unitedly throughout the state."
Exuding confidence, the BJP stalwart proclaimed, "The formidable combination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and JDS supremo H. D. Deve Gowda will propel us to victory in all 28 parliamentary seats in Karnataka. Our partnership will endure into the future, and together, we shall present an invincible force."
Emphasizing the Congress party's waning fortunes, Yediyurappa questioned its ability to field a credible prime ministerial candidate. He lambasted, "The opposition, bereft of viable solutions, has already conceded defeat in these elections."
Recalling his tenure as Chief Minister, Yediyurappa lamented, "I implemented tangible initiatives such as matching grants under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana, Bhagya Lakshmi bonds, and support prices for dairy farmers. However, the current Congress government has callously discontinued these vital schemes."
Expressing faith in the electorate's discernment, he remarked, "Karnataka's voters are cognizant of the stakes involved and will exercise their franchise judiciously to fortify the nation."
Yediyurappa outlined ambitious development plans for the region, pledging, "We shall secure the release of Rs. 5,300 crore for the Upper Bhadra Project and expedite the construction of the Tumakuru-Davanagere direct railway line. These infrastructural advancements will transform Chitradurga into an economic and industrial powerhouse."
Despite his advanced age of 82, Yediyurappa declared, "I am tirelessly campaigning for the BJP. Should my health permit, I shall actively participate in future electoral campaigns as well."
Drawing an analogy, Yediyurappa characterized the BJP and JDS as two sides of the same coin. He declared, "The rank and file of both parties will collaborate seamlessly in the future to ensure the coalition's triumph."
"Our alliance is impervious to external disruptions," he affirmed. "The electoral atmosphere in Chitradurga is manifestly favorable, with Govind Karjol poised to secure a resounding victory by a margin exceeding two lakh votes. Similarly, in Davanagere, our candidate will prevail handsomely, paving the way for Modi's third term as Prime Minister."
