Sunny's inspiring journey began with the values instilled by his hardworking immigrant parents from South Korea, who opened their first martial arts studio in 1989. At just 10 years old, Sunny was already managing the Oradell, New Jersey, studio, taking charge of classes, training sessions, and student interaction.

While his father returned to South Korea, Sunny's mother worked tirelessly to keep the family afloat. These challenges taught Sunny an important life lesson, as he reflects, “Tough times don’t last forever—you just have to stay dedicated and keep moving forward.”
