A vast and peculiar collection of antique toys, previously owned by David Finn from Nottinghamshire, has been sold at auction for a total of £199,700.

The haul, which comprised of 501 items made out of wood, papier-mâché, or composition, depicted soldiers, animals, and everyday people - but usually showed them in unusual circumstances.

According to Special Auction Services, bidders travelled from "all over the world" to see the collection.
