"This will provide certainty to venture capital (VC) and other investors, enabling us to continue building the next Illuvium or Immutable."

While acknowledging recent regulatory progress, such as the Treasury's consultation paper in October 2023 and informal discussions with policymakers at the Blockchain APAC Summit in March, O'Loghlen notes that these efforts have not kept pace with the burgeoning retail and institutional demand for crypto.

"Even if it's a [0.5%] or 1% allocation, when this audience invests, the size of their investment is a substantial multiple of younger cohorts, because their assets under management are significantly higher," O'Loghlen explained.
