University of Wyoming-Casper Announces Return of 2nd Annual Heroes 5K Run

Casper, Wyoming - In recognition of the university's significant student veteran population, the University of Wyoming-Casper (UW-Casper) is pleased to announce the return of its 2nd annual Heroes 5K run on April 27, 2024.

The event aims to raise awareness and provide support for the large community of student veterans attending UW-Casper. "Our primary goal is to increase visibility and foster a sense of community by acknowledging the substantial presence of student veterans within our institution," said Rochelle Green, UW-Casper BAS Organizational Leadership Director.

Green, herself a veteran, recognized the need for greater support and recognition for student veterans upon assuming her role at the university. "In just the leadership program that I lead, approximately 25% of our student population is composed of active duty military, veterans, retired military personnel, or dependents of veterans," she explained.
