On the auspicious occasion of Easter, the Executive Director, Finance and Administration on the Board of DESOPADEC, Chief Oghenekome Okpobor, extended a heartwarming gesture to the elderly of Isoko North and South, brightening their celebration with a generous donation.

The event took place at the Isoko Development Union (IDU) House in Oleh, Delta State, and drew a large crowd of grateful recipients from the Isoko nation. Chief Okpobor, addressing the attendees, emphasized his commitment to assisting his people, despite challenging economic times.

"Although times are difficult," he stated, "I have taken it upon myself to use my personal funds to help my people, not government money."

In line with the spirit of Easter and the example set by the State Governor, Chief Okpobor selected 20 individuals from each of the 24 wards in Isoko – 11 in Isoko South and 13 in Isoko North – totaling 480 beneficiaries. Each recipient received a monetary gift of twenty thousand naira.

While stressing that the donation came from his own pocket, Chief Okpobor emphasized that it was merely the beginning of future benefits to come. He urged the Isoko people to support the State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his dedication to the well-being of the community, noting that a new era of prosperity had dawned upon Isoko.

"I plan to conduct similar exercises on a seasonal basis," he announced. "If fortune smiles upon me, I may even decide to do another one next month or two months from now. With God's grace, I will continue to support my people, alleviating their burdens and easing their stress. I pray that God uses me and our Governor as instruments to improve the lives of the Isoko people."

In his welcoming remarks, the President General of Isoko Development Union, Prof. Chris Akpotu, expressed gratitude to Chief Okpobor for his kind gesture, attributing it to the spirit of Easter.

Prince Mzee Fidelis Obokpaino, the IDU Youth President, also spoke, expressing gratitude to God for the opportunity and acknowledging Chief Okpobor's efforts to unite the various factions of Isoko youths. He further commended Chief Okpobor for his love and support for the elderly who had gathered in the hall.

Two of the recipients, Pa. Jacob Umukoro from Otor-Iyede Ward 1 and Madam Akpoleu Rachel from Ozoro Ward 3, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Chief Okpobor and prayed for God's guidance, protection, and blessing upon him.
