Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada - The École nationale du meuble et de l'ébénisterie de Victoriaville (Victoriaville National School of Furniture and Cabinetmaking) will host the 52nd edition of its renowned Expo Meubles on April 20th and 21st, from 10 am to 4 pm. The exhibition will showcase an impressive array of approximately 20 original furniture pieces meticulously crafted by talented students, demonstrating their remarkable creativity and technical expertise.

"Our participants have tirelessly dedicated countless hours to bring their extraordinary creations to life," explained Francis Marchand, event coordinator. "Whether it's final-year college students whose participation is mandatory or those still pursuing their studies but eager to present their skills, the exceptional quality of their work is truly remarkable."

Each project represents hundreds of hours of dedicated effort, with students working diligently outside of class, during evenings, and weekends to design, construct, and refine their creations.

"This year, we have introduced an innovative element by featuring honorary ambassadors instead of an honorary president," noted Marchand. "We aim to highlight the upholstery profession in its multifaceted glory, and we are thrilled to welcome seven esteemed businesses representing various aspects of the industry."

They will showcase their exceptional work at a dedicated booth, offering insights and inspiration to both students and visitors. "This platform will enable aspiring students to engage with the professionals, learn more about their craft, and ask questions about the industry," said Marchand.

Jérémy Maillot, a French national, is among the first-year students participating in the exhibition with his three-dimensional chessboard. "This opportunity allows me to apply my acquired knowledge and expand my skills," said Maillot, who previously worked in the IT industry before returning to school at the Victoriaville Furniture School.

Completing her college program in furniture techniques is Léonie Myre, who will present a unique table with rotating legs. Myre traveled from Valleyfield to pursue her studies and will continue her education at the school with a training program in upholstery. "I came here to explore my creativity," she explained.

Alexis Fontaine, another French national, will also exhibit his creations, including a bar cabinet, reflecting his passion for the complete school experience. Having already obtained a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in finishing, he is now completing the cabinetmaking program. Francis Turbide is another student eagerly anticipating showcasing the results of his efforts, including a woven chair crafted from reclaimed wood.

Expo Meubles expects to welcome between 800 and 1000 visitors. As in previous years, attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite creations, with the winning students receiving a $150 scholarship. Additionally, the La Réserve committee will present three $100 prizes randomly awarded to exhibitors who have demonstrated the effective reuse of wood waste in their work. More awards will be announced shortly.
