A third of people admit to stealing Easter treats from their children, a new survey has claimed.

The research, which was carried out by Tesco, saw one in three people confess that they've helped themselves to some of their kids' chocolate stash this Easter.

And while you might expect younger generations to be displaying a preference for richer chocolate flavours, Baby Boomers were actually more likely to enjoy 47% dark chocolate, compared to 38% for Gen Z and 33% for Millennials.

The survey of 2,001 people also found that a quarter of Brits have poached an egg from their partner.

Brits are set to consume an estimated 205m Easter eggs this year - around three for every person in the country.

Gen Z and Millennials average four eggs each while Baby Boomers display a little more restraint, typically consuming just two. More than half say we would buy an egg as a token of love for a partner, according to the survey.
