As we bid farewell to 2024, the world’s oldest and most valued cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (BTC), seems to be ending the year on a mellow note. After kicking off the day above the $93,000 mark, BTC slipped down to $92,000 early Tuesday. A broader market sell-off saw several other popular altcoins, including the likes of Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), and Litecoin (LTC), also landing in the reds across the board.

Among the top crypto gainers over the past 24 hours were Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL), which saw a 24-hour jump of nearly 2 percent, followed by Mantle (MNT) and FTX Token (FTT). On the other hand, Helium (HNT) emerged as the biggest loser today, with a 24-hour dip of nearly 11 percent.
