Onchain Guilds will allow guilds to build and manage their reputation through verifiable records of their work and achievements on the blockchain—all while enjoying Ethereum’s security and Base’s benefits, according to a statement.

The announcement was made by YGG Co-Founder Gabby Dizon during a fireside chat with Emfarsis Director Leah Callon-Butler at the YGG Play Summit Industry Day.

Dizon then stressed that guilds remain a key factor in the web3 gaming community, though some interests lay down during the bear market.

Since guilds are a group of people doing things together, making an on-chain primitive of these guilds will make them powerful, as per Dizon.

There’s a lot of people doing different crypto primitives—in DeFi, in NFTs, but we have what we want is to create this primitive for groups of people owning assets together.”

And I was telling Jesse about Onchain Guilds and he got really excited about it.”
