There's nothing more popular in a story than introducing an unexpected child, and it seems that Two-Face's daughter is both a surprise to him and readers.
There's nothing more popular in a story than introducing an unexpected child, and it seems that Two-Face's daughter is both a surprise to him and readers. While Harvey Dent desperately tries to maintain control over his darker persona, the arrival of his secret daughter might destroy everything he's built.
For the past few months, Harvey Dent has been working tirelessly to bring order to the criminal underworld, using his reputation as Two-Face to enforce the law in a lawless organization. Surprisingly, he’s been doing a pretty good job.
But Gotham’s underworld is anything but predictable, and now Two-Face’s daughter, Die, has arrived to throw chaos into Harvey’s best-laid plans. This shocking secret daughter, and more, can be found in Two-Face #6 by Christian Ward and Fabio Veras.
Two-Face’s Dangerous Daughter Takes His Obsession With Chance to the Extreme
Two-Face #6 by Christian Ward, Fabio Veras, Ivan Plascencia, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
The big thing that makes Two-Face dangerous is the fact that he leaves all of his choices up to a coin flip. Whether he’s a villain or a hero, whether someone lives or dies, everything depends on the toss of his coin. That’s what makes reasoning with him nearly impossible. Harvey leaves every choice up to chance, but at the very least, there are only two possible outcomes with Two-Face—he’ll either do something good or something evil. There’s no risk of him choosing a far worse fate, like maiming a hostage instead of letting them go. But the same can’t be said for his chaotic daughter.
Two-Face's New Place in DC Lore Turns Him into Batman's New Nightmare
Dent’s dual identities collide as he embraces his lawyer roots in a way that promises to blur the line between hero and villain like never before.
As her name implies, Die uses a pair of dice, not to make decisions, but to determine her attacks. For example, if she rolls a forty-five, she uses a .45 handgun against her enemy. With thirty-six possible combinations, each roll triggers a different attack. It’s an absurd way to fight, but undeniably effective, as she nearly destroyed Two-Face's Which Church with ease. Even more concerning, however, is the fact that she isn’t Harvey Dent's daughter—she's Two-Face's.
Two-Face’s Mysterious Daughter Challenges Harvey Dent’s Control
Die’s Origins Are Unknown, but She’s Determined to Keep Gotham in Chaos
The most concerning part about Dice's debut is that Harvey only instinctively recognizes her. He doesn't exactly remember who she is, but he knows she's dangerous. Likewise, Dice seems to be perfectly aware of who Harvey Dent is, but she makes it clear that Harvey is not her father; Two-Face is. Dice’s true identity and origins remain entirely shrouded in mystery. However, it seems Two-Face has been working with her for quite some time, as she attempted to free him from Harvey's constraints.
Forget the Court of Owls: Two-Face Just Dropped an Ultimate Twist on Gotham's Criminal Underbelly
The stakes are higher than ever, as Harvey finds himself up against a dangerous new external enemy: Gotham's new Court of Owls–The Shadow's Hand.
Nothing is ever simple in comic books. Right when it seems like everything is going to work out, a long-lost twin brother or a forgotten child shows up and throws everything into chaos. This is exactly what happened with Harvey Dent and Die. Harvey very nearly managed to bring some semblance of civility and order to Gotham's criminal underworld. However, it now seems that the daughter of Two-Face is going to do everything in her power to make sure the criminal underworld remains in a state of chaos.
Two-Face #6 is on sale from DC Comics on April 2, 2025!
