The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has put into circulation a new commemorative coin "National Guard of Ukraine" to mark the Day of the National Guard of Ukraine, which is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of March.

The new coin continues the series dedicated to the Ukrainian military and honors the contribution of the National Guard to the protection of sovereignty, territorial integrity, public order and security of Ukraine, the bank's press service reports.

On the eve of the Day of the National Guard of Ukraine, March 25, 2025, the National Bank of Ukraine put into circulation a new commemorative coin "National Guard of Ukraine". The new coin continues the series dedicated to the Ukrainian military and honors the contribution of the National Guard to the protection of sovereignty, territorial integrity, public order and security of Ukraine.

The commemorative coin "National Guard of Ukraine" has a face value of 10 hryvnias and is made of zinc-based alloy with nickel coating. The obverse of the coin is identical to the obverse of the 10 hryvnia coin of the 2018 issue. It depicts the denomination of the coin, the year of minting and the State Coat of Arms of Ukraine in the center, framed by an Old Russian ornament.

The reverse of the coin has inscriptions around the circumference that reflect the fundamental values - honor, courage, law and the National Guard of Ukraine.

The main element of the composition is the image of the beret badge of the National Guard of Ukraine, which is based on a straight equilateral cross with diverging ends. In the center of the cross, in an octagon, is depicted the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine. In the background of the coin is a symbolic shield, which is the embodiment of protection and security.

Part of the circulation of the commemorative coin "National Guard of Ukraine" (520 thousand pieces) will be formed into specially designed rolls. The roll will contain 25 such commemorative coins. The souvenir paper in which each roll is packed features an image of the beret badge of the National Guard of Ukraine against the background of a symbolic shield. The circulation of the rolls is 20 thousand pieces.

You can buy a roll of 25 commemorative coins "National Guard of Ukraine" from March 27, 2025 in the online store of numismatic products of the NBU, as well as in distributor banks.

Earlier, Deputy Director of the NBU Oleksiy Shaban said that the design of coins with a face value of one and two hryvnias may be changed to make them easier to distinguish. This is due to the fact that in 2021 the NBU received many complaints that these coins are too similar to each other.
