Ce dimanche après-midi à Tonnellé fut, en effet, loin d’être une promenade de santé pour les Orange et Bleu. La faute à une équipe de Gennevilliers puissante, bien organisée en défense et prête à se nourrir de la moindre erreur des hommes de Bertrand Guilloux et Alani Maka. 

This Sunday afternoon at Tonnellé was, in fact, far from being a walk in the park for the Orange and Blue. The fault lies with a powerful Gennevilliers team, well organized in defense and ready to feed off the slightest error from the men of Bertrand Guilloux and Alani Maka.

Dès la 3e minute, Tours bénéficiait d’une pénalité à 23 mètres des perches, mais le coup de pied de Romain Laboudigue manquait sa cible. Baptiste Lemaitre relançait de son camp mais voyait sa passe interceptée par Augusto Mirolo qui filait à l’essai en bout de ligne. Essai qu’il transformait lui-même, permettant à Gennevilliers de mener (0-7, 5e).

From the 3rd minute, Tours benefited from a penalty 23 meters from the poles, but Romain Laboudigue's kick missed its target. Baptiste Lemaitre relaunched from his side but saw his pass intercepted by Augusto Mirolo who was trying at the end of the line. Test that he transformed himself, allowing Gennevilliers to lead (0-7, 5th).

La 10e minute voyait Romain Laboudigue distiller une judicieuse passe au pied dans l’en-but gennevillois. Les Tourangeaux se jetaient sur la balle comme des morts de faim et Gabriel Saudau aplatissait. Laboudigue transformant, Tours revenait à égalité (7-7). Trois minutes plus tard, un défenseur tourangeau ne se dégageait pas assez vite de la zone plaqueur-plaqué et Mirolo passait une pénalité de 24 mètres, redonnant l’avantage aux siens (7-10, 13e).

The 10th minute saw Romain Laboudigue distill a judicious foot pass into the Genneville in-goal. The Tourangeaux threw themselves at the ball like starving people and Gabriel Saudau flattened them. Laboudigue transformed, Tours returned to equality (7-7). Three minutes later, a Touraine defender did not clear the tackler-tackle zone quickly enough and Mirolo passed a penalty from 24 meters, giving his team the advantage (7-10, 13th).

À la suite d’une bonne relance, Gennevilliers développait une action grand champ de fort belle qualité et Sébastien Fasquet s’écroulait en terre promise, avant que l’inévitable Mirolo ne transforme (7-17, 19e). Mirolo connaissait cependant son premier échec en manquant un coup de pied de 38 mètres, consécutif à une faute d’Hamdi Di Massi qui écopait d’un carton jaune. Dans la minute suivante, Laboudigue manquait à son tour une pénalité de 40 mètres.

Following a good restart, Gennevilliers developed some very good quality wide-field action and Sébastien Fasquet collapsed in the promised land, before the inevitable Mirolo transformed (7-17, 19th). Mirolo, however, suffered his first failure when he missed a 38-metre kick, following a foul by Hamdi Di Massi who received a yellow card. In the next minute, Laboudigue in turn missed a 40-meter penalty.

L’ouvreur tourangeau réglait la mire des 30 mètres face aux poteaux et Tours respirait mieux (10-17, 30e). Mais il ne fallait que deux minutes à Mirolo pour redonner de l’air aux Franciliens par un superbe coup de pied de 42 mètres (10-20, 32e).

Consécutivement à une touche dans les 22 mètres bien négociée par Martin Raguin, l’inoxydable « Papy » Eloshvili allait à dame, concluant un groupé pénétrant d’école des Tourangeaux peu avant la pause (17-20, 38e).

Les deux équipes se neutralisaient en seconde période, les défenses prenant le pas sur les attaques. Le score n’évoluait ainsi pas jusqu’à la 73e minute. Sur une relance parfaite, Baptiste Lemaitre, servi au cordeau, déchirait la défense visiteuse et offrait un caviar à Paul Lebrault qui filait à l’essai.
