National DigiFoundry (NDF) and Mizzle Launch Decentralized Innovation Sandbox

The National DigiFoundry (NDF), a technology incubator supported by the National Science Foundation, is launching a decentralized innovation sandbox in partnership with Mizzle, a decentralized cloud infrastructure and AI platform.

The sandbox will provide a dedicated space for academic researchers, government specialists, and industry innovators to develop, test, and scale next-generation digital asset technologies. Participants will have access to Mizzle's cloud infrastructure, composable tooling, massive-scale computational resources, and robust systems for experimentation and commercialization.

This partnership marks a significant step in advancing blockchain applications across crucial industries such as healthcare, advanced manufacturing, supply chain management, energy, transportation, and Web 3.0 services.

The incubator is also supporting the implementation of the U.S. Blockchain Roadmap and strengthening blockchain's role in federal applications.

The sandbox will be powered by decentralized cloud compute and storage solutions from Mizzle, enabling applications to be hosted and scaled without reliance on centralized infrastructure. It will also feature blockchain development toolkits, supporting Ethereum-compatible smart contracts, zero-knowledge proofs, and on-chain AI models.

Furthermore, the sandbox will include federated learning and edge AI capabilities for privacy-preserving machine learning across distributed nodes, multicloud interoperability with major providers like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and Oracle, as well as Mizzle-native clusters.

Developers will have access to tokenization frameworks and digital asset management tools to create and test token economies, NFT platforms, and dynamic digital identities. Enhanced cybersecurity and compliance modules will ensure secure data governance, access control, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

"At Mizzle, we're building cloud infrastructure that is fundamentally resilient, massively scalable, and compliant with the decentralized principles of Web3," said Ben Rossi, CEO of Mizzle. "Our infrastructure supports modular, composable tooling and is designed to be deployed in close proximity to end users, enabling researchers and developers to conduct experiments and deploy applications that meet the operational needs of real-world scenarios."

This partnership builds on previous achievements in NDF's mission. Notably, the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) recently received an Early-Concept Grants for Exploratory Research (EAGER) grant from the NSF to investigate how blockchain technology can be leveraged to enhance government efficiency and reduce operational expenses.

This partnership is not solely focused on technological innovation but also aims to facilitate meaningful digital transformation across both public and private sectors.

"We are excited to collaborate with Mizzle in establishing this decentralized innovation sandbox," said Venkat Anantharam, Ph.D., director of the National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded technology incubator, National DigiFoundry (NDF), at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). "This partnership aligns perfectly with our shared vision to promote an inclusive and decentralized digital economy. We are deeply grateful for the NSF's support in enabling this critical initiative."

By combining NDF's expertise in academic research and public sector innovation with Mizzle's decentralized cloud infrastructure and AI technology, this partnership is poised to accelerate the evolution of digital infrastructure. From smart energy management systems to AI-enhanced supply chains, this initiative represents a significant step toward the creation of scalable, secure, and future-thinking blockchain solutions. By fostering experimentation and collaboration, the NDF and Mizzle alliance is setting the stage for the next wave of digital transformation.
