MetalCore, the web3-enabled first-person shooter (FPS) game, has commenced phase two of its closed beta, dubbed "Mech Up," offering players and community members the opportunity to earn Marks that can be redeemed for MCG tokens upon the upcoming token generation event (TGE).

Phase 2 Timeline and Access

The closed beta phase commenced on April 9th, 2024, and will run through May 14th, with a one-week hiatus from April 23rd to the 30th for undisclosed updates. Additionally, MetalCore Infantry NFT holders gain automatic access to the beta.

Play-to-Earn with Marks

This beta phase introduces the play-to-earn element through Marks, obtainable by participating in gameplay and completing missions. Accumulated Marks are subsequently redeemable for MCG, the MetalCore ecosystem's on-chain token.

Community Engagement for Marks

Players who are unable to secure beta access can still earn Marks by completing social quests on DeQuest. These quests typically involve following, re-tweeting, and joining communities, although some may require in-game achievements.

MetalCore Infantry NFT Migration Promotion

MetalCore invites holders of its MetalCore Infantry NFTs to migrate their assets to the Immutable skEVM network, enabling gameplay and eligibility for MCG token rewards claimable at the TGE. The migration deadline is May 14th, 2024, 3pm PST, for bonus token eligibility.

MCG Token Functionality

MCG will serve as a staking token and facilitate the minting of in-game items into NFTs. Players can also exchange MCG for Shards, an in-game currency crucial for progression, cosmetic purchases, and quality-of-life upgrades like fast travel and expedited repairs.

MetalCore Game Overview

MetalCore is a web3-centric FPS game that combines elements from Planetside and Battlefield. The game features first-person and third-person perspectives, a science fiction setting, and an array of vehicles, infantry, and loadouts. MetalCore emphasizes instanced faction battles, with some supporting up to 100 players per side. Players engage in both vehicle and infantry combat, with diverse combat styles and support options. Coordination and teamwork are paramount to success.

During faction battles, teams compete to capture and control tactical points scattered across the map. These points confer strategic advantages to the controlling faction. Players have limited respawns per battle, with exhausted respawns prohibiting further participation. However, teammates can replenish depleted respawn counts.

The game offers both player-versus-environment (PvE) and player-versus-player (PvP) zones. Players construct and customize vehicles and equipment in Garages, utilizing special skins and decals. MetalCore will also incorporate Baronies, essentially guilds for players to organize and collaborate.

MetalCore's free-to-play model ensures accessibility, while its Content Creator's program rewards streamers and video creators. The game remains in beta testing.

Collaboration with Immutable X

MetalCore partnered with Immutable X earlier this year, foreshadowing future integrations with the Immutable Passport and marketplace.
