Gitcoin announces that GG23 applications are now open, with the first round commencing on April 2nd-17th.

Gitcoin, the platform aiming to create a world where code and community can thrive, has announced that applications for GG23 are now open.
The first round of grants will begin on April 2nd and run until April 17th.
Those interested in applying for a grant can do so via the link in the tweet below.
Those interested in supporting the platform and its ecosystem can do so by donating to the projects applying for grants or by voting for the projects they wish to see funded.
Both donation and voting powers are derived from the GTC token, which is also used to reward community members and to incentivize participation in the ecosystem.
We're kicking off the year with huge news: Gitcoin Grants Round 1 for 2023 is now open! ⁴ This round will focus on supporting projects building the future of Web3. We're looking for applications from builders, creators, and organizations working on projects that solve some of the world's most pressing problems.

As a reminder, quadratic funding grants are a system in which the amount of funds allocated to a grant depends not only on the total amount of donations but also on the number of participants who made those donations. This provides a more democratic and fair way of distributing funds.
Moreover, the platform will host virtual hackathons and offer bounties to encourage participation in specific projects.
