How to add IOTA Mainnet (MIOTA) to MetaMask.

To initiate the process of adding IOTA Mainnet (MIOTA) to your MetaMask wallet, commence by installing the MetaMask browser extension from its official website.

Nov 16, 2024 at 11:55 pm

Step 1: Install the MetaMask browser extension

Installing the MetaMask browser extension is the first step to adding IOTA Mainnet (MIOTA) to your MetaMask wallet. MetaMask is a popular and secure wallet that supports various cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens. To install MetaMask, visit the official website and click on the "Download" button. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.

Step 2: Create or unlock your MetaMask wallet

If you already have a MetaMask wallet, you can unlock it by entering your password. If you're a new user, you'll need to create a new wallet. To do this, click on the "Create a Wallet" button and follow the on-screen instructions. Make sure to keep your seed phrase secret and store it securely, as it is the only way to recover your wallet if you lose access to it.

Step 3: Add the IOTA Mainnet network to MetaMask

Once you have your MetaMask wallet set up, you can add the IOTA Mainnet network to it. To do this, click on the "Network" dropdown menu in the MetaMask extension and select "Add Network." In the "Network Name" field, enter "IOTA Mainnet." In the "New RPC URL" field, enter the following URL: https://chrysalis-nodes.iota.org. In the "Chain ID" field, enter 4689. In the "Currency Symbol" field, enter "MIOTA." In the "Block Explorer URL" field, enter https://explorer.iota.org. Click on the "Save" button to add the IOTA Mainnet network to MetaMask.

Step 4: Import your IOTA Mainnet address into MetaMask

Once you have added the IOTA Mainnet network to MetaMask, you can import your IOTA Mainnet address into the wallet. To do this, click on the "Import Account" button in the MetaMask extension. Select "Import Account using Seed Phrase." On the next screen, paste your IOTA Mainnet seed phrase into the text field. Click on the "Import" button to import your IOTA Mainnet address into MetaMask.

Step 5: Add IOTA Mainnet (MIOTA) to your MetaMask wallet

To add IOTA Mainnet (MIOTA) to your MetaMask wallet, you will need to purchase MIOTA from a cryptocurrency exchange. Once you have purchased MIOTA, you can send it to your IOTA Mainnet address in MetaMask. To do this, click on the "Receive" button in the MetaMask extension. Copy the IOTA Mainnet address that is displayed on the screen. Go to the cryptocurrency exchange where you purchased MIOTA and withdraw your MIOTA to the IOTA Mainnet address that you copied from MetaMask.

Step 6: Confirm the transaction

After you have sent your MIOTA to your IOTA Mainnet address in MetaMask, you will need to confirm the transaction. To do this, click on the "Activity" tab in the MetaMask extension. You will see a list of all of your recent transactions. Find the transaction that you sent your MIOTA to your IOTA Mainnet address in MetaMask. Click on the transaction to view the details. You will see a "Confirm" button. Click on the "Confirm" button to confirm the transaction.

Step 7: Your IOTA Mainnet (MIOTA) is now available in MetaMask

Once you have confirmed the transaction, your IOTA Mainnet (MIOTA) will be available in your MetaMask wallet. You can view your MIOTA balance by clicking on the "Balances" tab in the MetaMask extension. You can also send and receive MIOTA from your MetaMask wallet by clicking on the "Send" or "Receive" buttons in the extension.
