The Genesis Block was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto on the afternoon of January 3, 2009 (02:15:05 Beijing time on January 4, 2009), with a block reward of 50 BTC. As of today, it has been 16 years since its birth, and the current total Bitcoin block height has reached 877,566.
