The minister said that the state government is working towards attracting investments in sunrise sectors like semiconductors, electric vehicles, and renewable energy.

"We are in talks with several semiconductor companies and are hopeful of getting some units in the state over the next two years. These investments are expected to be around Rs 14,000 crore," Amarnath told reporters here.

He said that the state government is also focusing on attracting investments in downstream industries related to semiconductors.

"We are also working towards attracting investments in setting up units for printed circuit boards (PCBs), integrated circuits (ICs), and other downstream industries related to semiconductors," the minister added.

Andhra Pradesh has been aggressively promoting itself as an investment destination and has been able to attract several large-scale projects in recent years.

The state government is also planning to set up a semiconductor fab in the state.

"The state government is also planning to set up a semiconductor fab in the state. We are in talks with the Centre and are hopeful of getting the necessary approvals soon," Amarnath said.

The minister said that the state government is also working towards setting up a skill development center for the semiconductor industry.
