Over the weekend, the two Solana (SOL)-based coins, named OFFICIAL TRUMP and MELANIA, have sparked an unprecedented frenzy, running up to valuations that took years to build for established corporations.

At the current price of $58.33, Trump’s official coin had a fully diluted valuation of $58.34 billion, as per CoinMarketCap. Meanwhile, the MELANIA memecoin was valued at $12.73 billion.

To note, a fully diluted valuation is an asset’s market value if the maximum supply is in circulation.

The combined market valuation of the two meme coins stood at $71.07 billion. To put things in perspective, this was higher than the market valuation of oil-producing company Occidental Petroleum Corp. (OXY), which stood at $49.38 billion at the time of writing.
