Welch is being accused of conning her fans with a pump-and-dump scheme that saw investors lose a lot of money while others reportedly made off with millions.

The Tennessee native has denied wrongdoing, initially claiming that no tokens were sold or given out prior to the launch and that her team tried to stop snipers.

A PR firm acting on behalf of Burwick Law told TotalProSports that Welch did not create the coin and only received a sponsorship fee for “lending her persona to those that created and deployed the memecoin, $HAWK.”

The firm also noted that Welch was not included in any parts of the project and had no control but received “incorrect advice” from the creators who were only interested in taking advantage of her success.
