Haliey Welch Has Reached Out To Fans And Investors Following A Class Action Lawsuit Being Filed Amid The Controversy Surrounding The Launch Of Her $HAWK Memecoin
Dec 21, 2024 at 12:21 am
Haliey, known as the “Hawk Tuah” Girl, is being accused of conning her fans with a pump-and-dump scheme that cost investors a whole lot of money
Haliey Welch, who became known as the “Hawk Tuah” Girl following her involvement in a memecoin controversy, has released a statement amid a class action lawsuit.
Welch is being accused of conning her fans with a pump-and-dump scheme that saw investors lose a lot of money while others reportedly made off with millions.
The Tennessee native has denied wrongdoing, initially claiming that no tokens were sold or given out prior to the launch and that her team tried to stop snipers.
“Hawkanomics:
Team hasn’t sold one token and not 1 KOL was given 1 free token
We tried to stop snipers as best we could through high fee’s in the start of launch on @MeteoraAG
Fee’s have now been dropped,” Welch wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
Following a silent period in the wake of the controversial launch, Welch has now made another statement, revealing that she is committed to helping everyone who was impacted.
“I take this situation extremely seriously and want to address my fans, the investors who have been affected, and the broader community. I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable, and resolve this matter. If you have experienced losses related to this, please contact Burwick Law using the link below: https://www.burwick.law/newclient,” Welch said in a statement obtained by TotalProSports.
A PR firm acting on behalf of Burwick Law told TotalProSports that Welch did not create the coin and only received a sponsorship fee for “lending her persona to those that created and deployed the memecoin, $HAWK.”
“Outside of the initial fixed fee received before the launch, there was no guarantee she would make any additional money from the memecoin thereafter,” they added.
The firm also noted that Welch was not included in any parts of the project and had no control but received “incorrect advice” from the creators who were only interested in taking advantage of her success.
Burwick Law has filed a class action lawsuit against the creators of $HAWK.
