Bitcoin (BTC-USD) is set to fall 5.2% on a weekly basis as the robust demand buoyed by the creation of spot BTC ETFs earlier in the year fizzles out.

Bitcoin rose 2% on Friday to trade at $60,326.9 by 11:03 ET (15:03 GMT). It was set for a weekly decline of about 5.2%. Ether fell 1.9% to $3,394.3.

“Bitcoin is facing some short-term headwinds as the market fears sell pressure from governments and Mt. Gox distributing Bitcoin to creditors, but these are likely overblown and temporary. This is a unique opportunity for long-term investors,” said Cory Klippsten, CEO of Swan, a Bitcoin financial services firm.

Bitcoin began the week on a subdued note, dropping below the $60,000 mark on Monday. It recovered to climb back above that level from Tuesday and has since been trading in a narrow range of $60,643-$62,103.

The sell-off on Monday came after an index of the largest 100 digital assets dropped 5% in the week through Sunday, marking its biggest loss since April.

“The meme coin market experienced a general pullback this month as Bitcoin prices face pressure,” said Lucy Hu, Senior Analyst, Metalpha.

The anticipation of one rate cut by the Federal Reserve prompted investors to pivot out of risky assets and into less risky ones, she added.

BTC has been seeing a gradual slump in its prices since the start of June. The cryptocurrency has been down 9% since the start of the month.

Bitcoin prices fell on Thursday after Swiss bank UBS (NYSE:UBS) said it will begin offering cryptocurrency services to its wealthy clients from next month.

Among other cryptocurrency, dogecoin rose 1.2% after Elon Musk said he will continue buying the meme coin if it helps people, in response to a user who asked him to stop buying dogecoin.
