Binance’s mining pool platform has announced that it is now distributing rewards in a memecoin that was created by Dogecoin (DOGE) creator Billy Markus.

Binance Pool says that it has now launched Bellscoin (BEL) merged mining.

Users of the mining platform can now mine Litecoin and earn rewards in either LTC, BEL or DOGE.

As per the project’s website, Markus created the Animal Crossing-inspired memecoin in 2013, eight days before Dogecoin was launched. It was then revived in 2023.

The Bellscoin website explains,

Bells is a meme coin with no intrinsic value or expectation of financial return. There is no formal team or roadmap. The coin is completely useless and for entertainment purposes only.”

It is worth noting that Bellscoin is not currently listed on Binance for trading, despite being offered as a mining reward.
