The new 50p coin features an uncrowned portrait of King Charles on the obverse (heads) side, designed by sculptor Martin Jennings and personally approved by the King. The reverse (tails) side depicts Westminster Abbey, where the King's coronation ceremony was held on May 6, 2023. The design also includes the King's official cypher, representing his coronation.
