The surge in crypto ETF filings comes after pro-crypto US President Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20 and his appointment of Commissioner Mark Uyeda as acting SEC Chair.

Some of the crypto ETF filings seen since Gensler stepped down on Jan. 20 include applications submitted by asset managers REX Shares and Osprey. The firms are seeking to launch investment products for major cryptos such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL) and XRP, as well as for meme coins DOGE, BONK and TRUMP.
