KBW Lifts Coinbase Price Target to $130, Citing Optimistic Revenue Prospects
Investment bank Keefe, Bruyette & Woods (KBW) has raised its 12-month target price on Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN) from $160 to $130, reflecting its bullish outlook on the cryptocurrency exchange's revenue growth potential.
The upward revision follows KBW's adjustment to its revenue and adjusted EBITDA estimates for Coinbase. The analysts noted that they have incorporated the impact of "full quarter volumes and EOP USDC balances" into their projections.
"We believe that Coinbase is well-positioned to benefit from the growing institutional adoption of cryptocurrencies," the analysts said. "We are also encouraged by the company's progress in expanding its product offerings and its focus on compliance and regulation."
KBW further increased its Coinbase earnings per share (EPS) estimates for the upcoming years, projecting $4.15 for 2024 (up from $1.84), $3.33 for 2025 (up from $1.20), and $3.74 for 2026 (marking an 11.7% growth over the 2025 estimate).
These adjustments are primarily driven by KBW's expectations of continued growth in Coinbase's USDC balances, an optimistic view on transaction volumes, and the recent surge in crypto asset prices.
"While we remain cautious about the near-term headwinds facing the crypto industry, we believe that Coinbase is a long-term winner," the analysts concluded.
KBW's bullish stance on Coinbase aligns with the broader positive sentiment surrounding the cryptocurrency sector following the recent rally in digital asset prices. However, the analysts also cautioned that uncertainties surrounding the regulatory landscape and competition from other exchanges could impact Coinbase's growth trajectory.
Investors should closely monitor Coinbase's upcoming earnings report for further insights into the company's financial performance and its plans for navigating the evolving cryptocurrency market.
