Tech firm Canaan recently unveiled two new Bitcoin mining machines, the Avalon Mini 3 and Nano 3S, designed to heat homes while mining cryptocurrency.
Both devices can mine Bitcoin and heat homes simultaneously by utilizing the heat generated during the mining process. The Avalon Mini 3 and Nano 3S are intended for hardcore mining and both offer a hashrate of 37.5 Th/s. However, the Avalon Nano 3S is better suited for beginners with its hashrate performance of 6 Th/s.
According to NG Zhang, CEO and co-founder of Canaan, the environmental benefits are significant as using the heat produced in mining reduces energy costs and waste. This will also enable Bitcoin mining to be brought directly into homes, allowing more people to participate in crypto mining.
With the fluctuating prices of Bitcoins and the increasing difficulty in mining, Canaan's dual-purpose hardware provides a valuable solution for both new and experienced miners. The Avalon Mini 3 and Nano 3S are available for pre-order at USD 899, and the price will increase after February.
Canaan's announcements at CES 2025 showcase the company's interest in continuous innovation in the blockchain hardware space. The Avalon Mini 3 and Avalon Nano 3S cater to two segments: residential miners seeking such a product and new entrants eager to begin in this arena. These devices, to be launched by Canaan, will redefine the Bitcoin mining industry by presenting an efficient, eco-friendly alternative that combines technological advancements with practicality in everyday life.
