Bank of Baroda (BoB) is gearing up to provide advanced banking services at the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, which is expected to attract millions of visitors.
As the convenor of the State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) for Uttar Pradesh, BoB will be playing a key role in promoting digital payments and offering AI-driven customer support for the pilgrims.
BoB will be setting up two full-fledged branches at the mela site, which will be equipped with forex facilities. The bank will also be deploying onsite and mobile ATMs, along with coin vending machines, to meet the diverse banking needs of the visitors.
To assist customers with banking queries, BoB has introduced Aditi, a GenAI-powered Virtual Relationship Manager.
BoB is also actively promoting its UPI payment app, BoB e-Pay, and offering incentives for customers and merchants to adopt digital payment solutions.
The bank has arranged for BC Sakhis and business correspondents to provide assistance to devotees, tourists, and merchants.
In addition, BoB has collaborated with Mela authorities to provide merchant carts and reflective jackets for volunteers and merchants.
According to VG Senthilkumar, Head of Marketing and Branding at BoB, the mela presents a significant opportunity for banks to serve the diverse crowd, which is expected to include over 45 crore devotees.
The Uttar Pradesh Police have put in place a robust security system to ensure the safety of attendees. The digital cell is closely monitoring cyber fraud and other fraudulent activities.
Hi-tech systems are being used to oversee the entire operation during Maha Kumbh 2025.
